Located just 3 km from Southern Ireland city centre, the National Botanic Gardens are an oasis of calm and beauty, and entry is free. A premier scientific institution, the gardens also contain the National Herbarium and several historic wrought iron glasshouses.
They have a program of over 70 events planned for the next six months including exhibitions, talks, workshops and guided walks. During Science week (8-15 Nov) they have a series of four talks on popular science topics as well as a day of Physics in the Garden by the Institute of Physics and the Irish Science on Stage team.
This year they will also have a visit of a mobile Planetarium in the Visitor Centre.
